From a logical perspective, morality can only be thought of as subjective. Even if we try to just appeal to things that most people can agree with like “murder is bad,” we’re still just basing that on some arbitrary criteria that we came up with. If laws of morality come from people, they’re always going to have this problem, and what’s worse is that what people think about morality can and will change over time. This is how you go from allowing gay marriage to forcing people to accept young men chopping their own dicks off.
With religion, you don’t have these problems. Sure, you can a have a problem of interpretation, but for the most part (if we’re taking Christians as an example) people are basically on the same page. After all, they all read the same book, and it never changes.
Furthermore, if you begin living your life in the way that Jesus and the Bible teaches, you’ll probably find that your life just magically gets better, and you might start to question whether miracles and shit really are possible, because you’re going to wonder how these dudes living in the desert 2000 years ago were able to come up with this ancient wisdom. And it’s different than looking at like Plato or other philosophers, because while there were plenty of great thinkers back then, they didn’t teach you how to live a good life. That’s what the Bible does, and that’s probably why Christianity is the most popular religion in the world. It just works.
