I was trying to say that sometimes those representatives are the same as, if not worse than, the mob.
Since you seem to like to study governance, let me share an idea of mine with you. I think it would be a lot better if assemblies of republics conducted all communications on an early 2000s-style internet forum. That would help with differentiating it more against a mob.

"Democracy" is more vague of a term than people seem to realize. The Demos is simply the sum of all eligible citizens of a given state, and a Democracy is a power structure that derives from said sum. Democracy doesn't specify who gets to be a citizen and what rights a citizen gets to have.
