Im not entirely sure honestly. But he was a UFC fighter so it was probably upgraded because he is a trained fighter. Plus kidnapping, torture, rape and it being a high profile case. Dude will probably get out eventually. He was on the Joe Rogan podcast a few months before this happened too.

It's not uneven, he has an 36 to life aggregate sentence due to something like 25+ felonies. He also had a criminal record for assaults so he got even more time. Yet it's not without a chance for patrol but even that is maybe 15-20+ years from now.
Seems fine to me. He did a shit ton of crimes in one shot. Multi-kidnapping, rape, assault etc etc.. He didn't just give her a black eye, he beat the absolute shit out of her.. I have no issue with him in jail for at least 15-20 years..
