a simplified graph of the political and philosophical bases for some different governments.

I made this graph because i think its helpful to identify the philosophies that inform your government. If only so that once you start mucking around with it, you can see if you are losing the plot of the ideological foundation is was founded on. In which case you might want to just completely reevaluate your government, if your values have drifted that much. And if in identifying something else might be more appealing, thinking critically and avoiding grass-is-greener syndrome. Understand what your forefathers were thinking, what they valued, and likewise for the other govts.

I am aware monarchies can be authoritarian, and there are illiberal democracies. I am also aware there are constitutional monarchies based more in traditionalism than Divine Right.

Why wouldn't "the end justify the means" characterize basically any government that would do whatever it takes to stay in power (that is, all of them)
