If every sub-Saharan African country is poor and underdeveloped, then how did Africans survive before Europeans arrived?

Usually through farming or hunting.

They were not meant to live in cities and work a corporate job like white boomers.

My mom is a boomer Nigerian. She said that they survived just fine. She never remembered a time when they were hungry, they just had to go pluck some fruit from a tree or bush. Of course they hunted and they lived in extended families.

She said things changed when the missionaries came. Tribal warfare became worse etc.

Basically, and some farming, but it was more growing root vegetables. She said they had their own way of life and she never felt poor because they had everything they needed. They would trade with some foreigners if they needed something else. She said it was probably for the best if they were just left alone.

Sounds like a good life, especially considering that nowadays, most people can't afford food even by working 9 to 5

Yes suh I love me my pancakes.

I call them pancakies. I know they're doughnuts but they don't look or taste like a peanut.

You have to think upon the overhead involved in transporting yourself to an office and generating sufficient value there to justify transporting a mango from the jungle to you vs. living in the jungle and grabbing the mango yourself

The advantage of the city route is if you're sick of mangos and want bananas or something

My boomer Congolese mom talked about how life was easier, but opportunities were fewer.
But she's a bit of a different example given DRC had very different administration than many other colonies.
Also her family owned slaves.
Funny enough there are several photos of Mobutu either at her family's home or using furniture from their house (moved to places where he could watch the river) whenever he was in that part of Congo.
She said if it wasn't for the instability over there, which she partially blames on the rest of the world's obsessions with minerals, but also blames on the corrupt governments that plagued the DRC, she'd just be managing farmlands over there and living in the mansion she had built a little over a decade ago.

>then how did Africans survive before Europeans arrived?

There were a small number of them and they still died constantly from disease and famine. They reproduce with the assumption that most of their kids will die.

This is true. Its only when they started going to school abroad did their need for "getting stuff and going places" became a pest. Its ultimately not worth it. Even westerners are trying to go back to more simpler ways of living with homesteading etc. Life dosent have to be complicated or designed to have things to strive for.

Africa has too many predators. That's why Africans evolved to be more aggressive and defensive than Europeans.

How not? Since when does a population need to be rich and developed to survive? That doesn't even make any sense. Humans logically have to have lived without wealth and development in order to have gradually produced wealth and development in the first place.

They lived simply. Without the wheel, and without any written language. They were still tired from learning how to start a fire.
