An Indian man, who has lived in Dublin for 22 years, suffered a horrific assault and was robbed on his way to work this week.
Dad-of-two Laxman Das, a sous chef at the Anantara The Marker Dublin hotel, was travelling to work in the early hours of Wednesday morning on his e-bike when he was targeted by a gang of three males at Charlemont Place. After grabbing him off the bike, the gang were "relentless" and started beating him, causing his helmet to break.
He told Dublin Live that his phone, cash and electric bike were stolen during the horrific incident. The 51-year-old, who is an Irish citizen, was taken to St Vincent's Hospital following the assault and was discharged at approximately 9pm on Wednesday evening.
His legs, eye socket, shoulder and arm were injured in the incident. He is currently on sick leave as he recovers from the horrific ordeal.
