I literally can’t fuckin’ make it anymore. I can’t work if I even wanted to and work is becoming so toxic and degrading it feels like it’s designed to break you.

I’m seriously considering getting a $13.50 an hour job IF they hire me and just work a ton of overtime. I would be living in my car right now if I had one.

No jobs. I think I have little faith in my ability to get any job. Panda Express has rejected me 4 times. All the jobs you can get instantly here are $0 an hour w-4 commission jobs and I’m not that good with people. Amazon has no jobs listed, same as all the “always hiring” companies. Ross rejected me, every grocery store rejects me. I have 8 years of line cook experience and people look at it like it’s nothing, plus half the kitchens here would require me to speak Spanish.

When I had to restart following a sever injury, I had to go to a pallet factory because there isn't alot where I live to begin with.
It sucked, but if you were breathing, they'd hire you.

It was okay, but I am old enough that it just left me too sore to function. I went home, cleaned up, and sat in a heated chair after taking naproxin every night.
That opened the door to a machinist job in a few months.
Machinists jobs aren't what they used to be, but they pay decent and it's mostly White men.

Don't do service jobs if you can avoid it for a while.

Then, look into something else.
EMT doesn't pay well, but they are hiring like crazy in alot of states. I work part time, and they are always looking for more people.

If you can force yourself to learn a sales script, Medicare sales in a call center is easy during annual enrollment that starts in October. You'd have to get a license, though.

You'll never get a job by applying for jobs. It's a complete waste of time. As long as you live in a place with 50k people or more you can go sign up at a temp service tomorrow and start working right away. One of the client companies will eventually hire you. I do punch list work for a very large general contractor and it's the easiest job in the world. I make 24 an hour for the first 40 hours and I make about 300 just for working Saturday. Five years ago I was a homeless sucked up tree lizard.

You can talk about things that bother you no problem. Narcotics anonymous same. It's fellowship really. Go to your local VFW too. Those old timers have all the local connections. If you cook, pitch in and cook there. They party too. Chamber of Commerce, go there. Those ladies are in touch with every single business around. Just tell them you really want to work locally and would really appreciate any information they have about businesses in the area. I took off to truck driving school and had my apartment right behind the seat for years and bought a house. City driving really isn't an issue if you do dedicated fleet you go to the same areas time and again. The routine is nice. Once on open interstate driving the country is easy. It's mostly all automatics now. Backing up is stupid easy. Just get out and look set your angle and pull up as many times as you need. Bonus, can grill at the rest area on the weekend and relax.

Merchandiser reset is a good idea. You get a hotel but usually bunk with somebody sometimes not they pay your airfare to get to the jobs. It's good steady work.
