Why do poles have such an inferiority complex?
Does it come from centuries of being raped by other nations?
Being a welfare leech off of the EU?
I don't start threads about how great US is because everybody knows.

No point to compare salaries without first comparing taxation

How is Iceland so high up? I assume this is some kind of average monthly salary. What do they even make money from; and even then, the costs to import and export their products must be insane in comparison to anything in mainland Europe. I know they grow bananas, but ordinary crops can't efficiently be produced in greenhouses, right?

That's not accurate. That's the highest tax rate possible, not the actual average tax rate. I am in the top 10% earners in Denmark yet pay 40% tax, not 55%.

It's either that or Norrland, and do you really want to move there.

The average is way more relevant to most people than the max. If you hit the max here, money isnt really that big of a problem for you/you are rich enough to find loopholes.

This is a lie. You also have to pay health and pension, and those come out at 47.5%.

So I know this map is bunk.
Also add in VAT of 19% with some reduced at 9% for food and 5% for hotels, cultural and educationals for total tax burden of about 66%, 56% for food and 52% for the lowest vat rate. That is of course if you are complete fiscalization.

Tl;Dr if you do not follow east Yorkshire past times, or better yet Albanian fiscal practices, you are fucked as an individual.

Honestly good for them
Poland and Russia clashed for centuries, and for good geopolitical reasons, but those are gone.

Strange map. For some countries they took the highest calculation. For some countries, they took average/low calculation. For some countries they combined all taxes paid by a worker. For some countries, they took only one tax out of several.
