I can support being mad about it because it's retarded that they should enforce a specific way to use bottle caps and add an extra layer of inconvenience for normal purpose
But at the same time I've used these things a few times and have never really found them to be even remotely annoying to deal with. You can just rotate the bottle a tiny amount so the cap falls off to one side and then it's entirely out of the way. Again it's retarded to require these things but I feel like you've got to have brain damage to have issues dealing with the cap itself.
