The only situations where a country can be said to "collapse" is due to sudden cutoffs in their trade. Sudden, as what happens when one morning the only bridge out was bombed or some 100% tariffs get imposed or something similar. That kills, you still have all your production capacity but no suppliers and no customers. Your customers also lose you as a supplier, and your suppliers lose you as a customer. Its like cutting a person in half.

So, like sanctions?
What about boycotting and divestment?
Can they also cause a country to collapse?

>Can they also cause a country to collapse?
of course. Its more likely for small countries as they absolutely depend on a system of imports and exports. At least Russia can sort of be self sufficient to a modest technological level, and the US would be able to make everything and only lose top level computer chips and exotic coffee. We would run out of oil like in a week

So, a small country of less than maybe 10m people...
They'd be the most likely to collapse under international sanctions?
And boycotting and divestment?

trade sanctions more than divestment, either way with trade sanctions no one would invest in you. Imagine if a place like Cyprus or Belize had that happen to them. Belize might revert to Bananas to survive

>year 20 of china’s collapse in 10 years
Fuck’s sake.
>but you don’t get it maaan the demographics maaan
His central argument is the worst. When birth rates plummet they lose a bunch of farmers they were trying to shed anyway. That’s their whole leap frog strategy of urbanization and modernization.
The key difference is chinks will NEVER let their countries be overrun by takers. If they need workforce they will get pajeets or africans and they will have no fucking rights at all and be a slave caste at best. No mixing it up, no bleeding heart welfare state to care for them, no integration of their brave and exciting culture. Come here, work, die or fuck off back home.

And that will be the only way mass labour importing is going to work.
Meanwhile in the west we’ll choke on our “newcomers”, who add more burden to the system than they contribute.

Autocracy sucks in many ways but they have answers we refuse to even consider.

The gains are in the monthly rollovers, basically you secure gains when you exchange the expiring front month contract for the usually more expensive next contract. Right now contango is pretty high (VIX index is 15.15, front month that expires in a week is $16.8, following contract is $19.1) so you can get $2-$3 per contract, but the historical long term average is more around $1.

Due to my chosen risk exposure I allocate $90 per contract, so long term I should gain an average of $1/month for every $90 I allocate so expecting +13%/year long term is reasonable, currently in the short term it's just a lot more because things are going well. Right now I have 150 contracts. Anytime I'll gain $900 I'll add 10 more.
