Only reason Trump cares so much about this war is because its making Europe and lot in america keep their focus on russia when he thinks the focus needs to shift to China. but that wont happen til the ukrainian war is over.
Alot of people think he wants to convince russia to ally against china, even at the cost of influence and friendships in europe(note, different than becoming enemies with europe), but im still not convinced. sure, hes been harsh on europe and clearly wants to get shit with russia over with, but thats a far cry from thinking he'll be able to convince russia to turncoat their only real ally, even if its just an ally of convenience.

I also think that he think he can make Russia more of an "ally". Here in europe people and leaders will do as any liberal lunatic. They will scream and cope and cry a little etc etc for a certain amount of time, with headlines in the news about The US no longer being an ally and fren and so on. Then after 2-3-4 months, they are over it and its back to normal.
I am pretty sure The US could nuke a country over here and after some time, most countries would connect with The US again. Its just how it is. We are way to much alike and have too much in common for politics to come between us. Liberal or right wing. Just a battle about who is the adult and who is the baby.
