And so on. All this sounds like money laundering financial fuckery. Trillions and trillions of US citizen tax payer money is being taken and sent off somewhere, bouncing around, and who knows where it's ending up. And the people like Republicans saying they want to end taxes or the debt, are still taxing and taking money now through tariffs (in addition to normal taxes which they will never end) - where's that money going?

Because their country prints more money than the US does. A lot more. The US is the conservative one. I know that's hard for you to believe, but it is.
That means parking their money in dollars is a GOOD store of value for them. Which is why we owe them money, and why they keep loaning us more.

It is all crazy. Every day the US pays $3B in interest costs on the debt. The top 5 buyers of US debt are Japan, China, UK, Luxembourg and Canada. Trump has tried to stick it to 4 of those countries and in a full out trade war with Canada. It is like telling Visa and Mastercard to fuck off and then asking for them to increase your limit.

This year the US has to finance an additional $1.9Trillion in debt to stay afloat and cover all their costs. The last major bond auction was not very well received and the interest rate had to go above 5% to entice people to buy the debt.

By 2027 the US will pay more in interest than Defense + social security + Medicare. Social security will be the first to go.

We should be collectively working to figure out the best way to minimize the damage, but everyone is worried about tariffs and tough talking.

Its a mystery why they won't open the books for currency swaps between central banks. Its almost like we print the money, buy their worthless currencies, then they purchase treasuries with their new USD.
Their currencies get propped up, our treasury market looks like it has demand, and the other government gets the interest coupons for their trouble.
