Why doesn't Trump just say "My name was in the Epstein Files and I did have a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. I was unaware of his illegal activities, cut him off as soon as I found out, and I am not implicated in these files," and then just release his edited version of the files with Obama and Clinton? His base would 100% eat that shit up. I don't think he was even really on the island (he raped kids in his own time). But his constant dodgineess and deflection and the demeaning of his own supporters is a huge sign that something is going down.

The Art of the Deal explicitly lays out Trump's entire philosophy towards business/life, which is never conceding to wrongdoing and always projecting blame onto others. It's just narcissism 101.

Normally it's bad for a leader to admit he was unaware of something. Trump likes doing that, however. But there are higher ranking people than Trump in there. Simple as.

This is the issue, unfortunately. Being a man who cannot admit his own faults and hire those who are down to earth and there to help him will be his greatest undoing. He has surrounded himself with sycophants that have absolutely no talent. The people in his first term actually got shit done because they believed in Trump. The people now are just Trump jeets and jews and boomers who are in it for themselves or still believe in the MAGA movement when the actual talent saw the writing on the wall and jumped from the ship a loooong time ago.
