Catholicism is the religion of the West.

Eastern is Constantinople and it's sphere of influence.
Orthodox Christianity is the religion of the East.

So definitely Eastern, though they are mostly barbarian.

Since the West is basically synonymous with Europe and the Anglo sphere, no, it isn't Western. But framing the question as whether it's Western or Eastern suggests it must be one or the other when that's not necessarily true. Russia and the Eastern Slavs are their own civilizational category with a distinctive intellectual and cultural heritage compared to the West, and they differ enough from the Middle East and Asia that they shouldn't be classified as Eastern either. You could say they're a transcontinental Eurasian civilization between European, Middle Eastern, and East Asian civilizations.
