Is this not a case of a deranged dictator spreading his country too thin as a means to saty in power? Netanyahu's approval rating is around 33%, there's lots of in-fighting in Israel as is, and demographics are changing rapidly as well inside the country. Plus, the US is waking up to the 'tick-like' nature of Israel, and there's no doubt their power is waning, and funding will dwindle greatly.
