Culture War Victory
This place has long fought an internet war against Tumblr culture. Way back in 2014 Tumblr culture peaked and was starting to infect everything. It spread and spread and despite Trump winning in 2016 it carried on spreading until peaking in 2020 with the George Floyd death. Tumblr culture (was called SJW then called woke) seemed to be taking over everything. The base moved from Tumblr to Twitter and Twitter dominated journalism and media culture.

Then Elon bought Twitter and now online racism is super normal. I remember when cancellations and online mobbing for the tiniest things were common. Now extreme racism against Indians and blacks is super common and normal on the internet. More so than it was before 2014.

Congratulations guys. You won the culture war. Twitter went from woke black feminist central to literally more extreme and racist than here.

Yes Elon Musks politics obviously do align with most people here. Musk is a businessman who wants profit and power - if immigration works for him he will accept it.

However it feels like winning the online culture war was the first step. A lot of people in the U.K. right now are low-key being radicalised by all the far right posting on Elon Twitter. It is quite extraordinary.
