This is one of the reason I love the Tahoe I bought off my father in law. I have been working on cars since my first visit to a garage for repair and got shafted. So much more room to work. Tons of space for mods. Power out of a stock L83 is crazy for what it is, using DI and variable cam timing. I never thought twice about getting a truck but so far it has unexpectedly been my favorite vehicle to date.
I agree that there seems to be a large portion of truck owners who are insane along with a good amount of men who tie their self-image to their vehicle. I have a honda fit and the tahoe, each does well at what I need them to do.
