Well if you look at your own chart, people were clearly discussing the Holocaust before 1980s. The Eichmann trials happened in the 60s, and the The Hoax of the Twentieth Century was published in 1975. So I don't get why you are misreading your own chart. There was definitely a much stronger obsession with the Holocaust after the 60s however.

You know what's funny is that I was in school in the '90s to early '00s and I never remember learning about the holocaust in school. All of our social studies/history classes were learning about how the chugs got their shit rocked and Canada was formed. Guess I was lucky. I've also never seen Schindler's List and nobody I know has.

The term "holocaust" wasn't really used to apply to this specific genocide of Jews in WW2, "genocide" was used instead, or "final solution". Similar to how "nigger" wasn't really used in written publications, they just used the word slave.

The wall fell and the Russian Jews screamed holocaust. It was always pr to make Germany look bad after royally fucking Russia on the battlefield. Even the so-called gas chambers were repurposed AFTER the war to look like gas chambers. It was only after the 1961 Eichmann trial that a big 'media campaign' involving many different permutations and spin-offs in the four major forms of media listed above (some of the movies-TV shows mentioned itt), started to become persistent across the west. And the concept of The Holocaust and 'evil Nazis' etc. became part of the popular culture imagination.

Eventually the nazis did it the german way, efficient, efficient, always more efficient. They developed a titanium penny, heat resistant, and would toss it directly into the crematorium's incinerator.
