Sooner or later those people are going to say that they have "discovered" something huge by talking to ChatGPT or other AI models. They withdrawal, spend more and more time on those apps and one shot themselves.

so that is a tricky one. more often than not those users use 1 chat only for everything and they put in so many words and requests the model uses all capability to even perceive context. look up AI Context windows to understand the problem.

ultimately what these users should do - if they absolutely refuse to listen is let the AI generate a summary of their ideas and ask other AIs in a fresh chat. this worked for the tard in the NYTs article. ChatGPT made him think hes about to become giga rich cause he discovered something revolutionary but eventually he asked Gemini about it and Gemini told him its complete bullshit.

The best thing would be however to make them stop using AI/LLMs all together but getting them off it is probably as hard as getting someone of H or fent at this point.

Let me expand my question: if someone you know is “in love” with an AI personality, or is convinced that they AI is a friend giving them financial advice or is giving them suggestions that are actually unhealthy for them, what would you pose to the AI to demonstrate to the person that they AI is just telling them what they want to hear?

the using "another LLM to verify" route can be dangerous since they can get confused by the bullshit output as well and do the same as the other AI. In the end all the staff members of those companies rotate and all the AIs are trained on the same data so their outputs are similar. Be careful when telling people to use AI to get out of AI psychosis.

in this instance i think educating someone about how LLMs actually work can be valuable. they have to understand what they are "talking" with from a technical standpoint. maybe that snaps them out of it.
