Back in the day it used to be true. What were essentially European peasant classes were given the opportunity they had dreamed of for centuries, their own land. In the age before engines and power tools it was up to you if your own work ethic and resilience would let you survive and thrive in these lands (I’m talking union states because the south is a different class of fuckery in those times)
This carried over up to the mid 1970s, in which you could make a more than decent living assuming you showed up to work everyday, which is much harder than it sounds. Anyone who has worked a shitty job will tell you that.

Nowadays it’s all about grifting and scamming off the momentum of our forefathers and the masses. Unfortunately the masses are quickly catching on, meaning the whole god damn thing will go Greek in no time

The problem is that there is no longer any job security and older people cost the companies alot more for health insurance than young people. They get your best years and then they lay you off and you have to start all over again with an age disadvantage. It will happen to every young person eventually.

Working hard to succeed has always been a cornerstone truism of the American Ethos.

The problem is that since 1913, we've been held hostage by a (((monetary system))) which parasitically debases the currency and drains/steals value from the productive efforts of the people, depriving us of our ability to create prosperity for ourselves, our families, and future generations.

This parasitic process has made a mockery of the virtue of hard work and created a culture that has become justifiably cynical.

The myth of hard work is completely dead in millennials and even more in Gen Z. Also it's one of the many, many things causing the current on going collapse of the US. You will hear boomers say shit like "no one wants to work," but what they really mean is that there are millions of dead end minimum wage service jobs that can't be filled since young people refuse to do that shit (hence, importing millions of illegals who also mostly don't work). The pyramids were not built by slaves though. They had it 100 times better than the burgers because the workers were provided free housing, food and healthcare for them and their families. They were also paid for their work and they were buried by the pyramids, making their tomb as close as can be to that of a pharaoh.
