Why are Americans so much less reasonable than other white people? They often seem to just read some schizo shit and believe in it without questioning it's axioms. These people are common in every Western country but I think there are more in America

I have a very hard working friend in the petroleum industry, she’s convinced the government is going to establish camps and kill us all. Along with other completely insane reactions based off a very obvious clickbait video. I think what’s happened is that prior to the Information age early millennials/late gen x who went to a public school were convinced they should believe literally everything they read as fact.
She tries really hard to remain educated on topics, manages to grasp it, but has zero ability to estimate or conceptualize based on rational/critical thought. She’s also a hick but I don’t hold that against her really because I’ve seen this play out over and over again with this very specific age group. The most stereotypical liberals you can imagine do exist, and they’re good people. Unfortunately they tend to overshoot the mark and never acquired the ability to think for themselves.
