I doubt Russia can take Kramatorsk and Sloviansk in 1 year. Its been over a year and they still havent taken pokrovsk which is much smaller

You’re erroneously assuming Ukrainians can keep defending with same effort. They can’t and episodes like this which are becoming frequent testify to that.
Wars don’t work how you people assume. Without determined and well-organised opposition, taking a lot of ground is a question of driving there and providing supply to your troops.
