Why shouldn't smoking cigarettes be encouraged? One of the biggest problems by far that Europe faces today is the aging population. If more people smoked and died at like age 70 as a result there wouldn't be a pension crisis or shortage of retirement homes. Young people would have more resources to spend on starting families instead of paying some 80 year old farts to gamble their inheritances on slot machines. It just makes sense to start a national pro-smoking campaign any way you look at it.

There's also the issue that the solution to an aging European population isn't killing people. The issue is a lack of young European people.

Encouraging smoking is the same sort of solution as importing brown people. It solves the parts of the problem that an odiot sees, while making things far worse. Another example would be the stupid solution of promoting abortion because there are too many black people in the US. You can kill 10x as many briwn babies as white, but whites will just go extinct and be replaced by brown immigrants. The problem is a lack of white Americans.

Cancer is mostly genetics and smoking is actually good for you. Nicotine kills parasites, it makes getting ill more difficult and it helps preventing dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases. Alcohol is literal poison for your brain and isn't as taxed and looked down upon as smoking.
