Israel is just currently the prime muslim exterminator, why would we not encourage it and learn from it?
It's literally free for most of US, and the US evidently hss its reasons to fund Israel (though people are often eager to forget that they fund / funded most of the rest of the ME too, and not with less funding than for Israel).
