There was never a need for any referendum as ALL Canadian provinces have been sovereign since 1932. Alberta does not need a referendum, Quebec does not need a referendum. All they need is a Constitution. The Canadian constitution is legally invalid. There is no Canada.

But you have to be careful when you reference Canada

Take it from us, the scars and grudges from our civil war still linger over 150 years later and the revolution that preceded it looms large shaping our whole national identity on both sides. Sovereignty, real sovereignty, is something you need to fight for. That you need to win either outright or making the cost so great you aren't worth it. The latter won't happen here becuase there'd be nothing left for the people in power, if it applies to every province as you say it really is all or none here. Interpretation of the letter of the law doesn't mean shit when your problem is with the people who carry out and enforce the law. Not when the whole system in reality is built upon not observing and enforcing the letter of the law, not when the rulers would lose everything if it were. You aren't ever going to disolve a nation with a legal "gotcha".
