The white world economy is starting it's equivalent of a woman's monthly period right now.
But basically nice homes are expensive and this is a gilded age, where everything is made cheaply, looks okay, but is actually shit that falls apart. The construction workers don't care and the home buyers are dumb as fucking bricks.
There are no more gods, there are no more morals, criminals will build your house and scam you every step of the way unless you either watch them like a slave driver or buy the finest quality available and really pay for it.
You can build those brick walls with facades and bay windows, with nice tile shingles, but it will fucking cost you. Otherwise get your cardboard shit up to code.

Depends on the location, but in a good part of London, you're looking at around £1.5m.

Do you think that 100 years ago we were so rich we could affort to decorate even factories and barracks with neorenaissance ornaments?

Newsflash: We had this thing called industrial revolution. The ornaments cost next to nothing, when factories churn them out by millions. The greatest barrier is literally IN YOUR MIND and it has been put there by a very well known people with an agenda.

Those ornaments cost like 5 cents to make with factories. Now five cents is five cents too many so you get econobox post-modern trash everywhere.
Then motherfucking surprise, people stop making decorations, so you have to special order them and they become special - and outrageously expensive.

I fucking worked in this museum sorting out 1930s and 1950s literal construction work orders and seeing all this decoration they were pumping out. You get the world you pay for and the money has dried up along with the desire to live in and care for somewhere beautiful. The entire world has basically become disposable.
>build it to last? it will only last twenty years, thirty tops, and then I'll buy a new one! leave it to my children? fuck that
People will still be using the world after you're done with it, remember that

Because jewish construction companies would rather build modular homes where they order 1000 of the same wall, millions of identical tiles and fixtures and appliances, and then charge $400,000. The shit they are building in Florida right now makes commie blocks look good. Pretty much anything built after 2015 in America looks like a prison.
Anonymous (ID: 6Q86xwj6) Finland No.512705703
>>512705412

Nope. We used to have a construction industry specialized in mass-producing ornaments. The decoration was basically IKEA shit of its time. Decoration was ordered from catalogues. Guess what happens when the modernist agenda shut down all the factories? The beautiful shit became expensive and rare, something only the elite could afford. They probably planned that: no nice things for the cattle.

They didn't have the technology to produce as cheaply as they do today. Instead, people built with more passion because it was their only trade.

Anyone who isn't a retard like the woman knows architecture has declined for various reasons. She's just a retard who thinks people can get anything they want without understanding anything.

If you want a nice house then be prepared to pay more. This was true in the past and it's true today. Of course, you can mimic stuff but the quality won't last as long.

actually that second paragraph probably mostly applies to America but beware the American mindset. It prioritizes short--term growth at the expense of future generations. Social security, immigration, inflation, it's all for boomers to loot the economy and then die and try to take it to hell with them

>Now five cents is five cents too many so you get econobox post-modern trash everywhere.

This rather common pattern of thinking shows a very primitive understanding of economy.

One doesn't make largest profits by minimizing cost. Race for the bottom is actually a way which leads to bankruptcy.

Instead, if you raise the cost and quality by 5 dollars, the customer might want to pay 10 dollars more. The optimal quality for profits is very, very seldom the worst quality. Would you want to buy the cheapest shittiest shit, ugly and badly made, or use your money for something more expensive but better? Which product will the customer choose?

Can you? The government seems to be regulating everything to the point where it's only allowing modern-looking buildings. You can't even put a fuel central heating system in your home. It now has to be electrical eco eco-friendly shit. Otherwise, they'll refuse all planning permissions.

You have a good understanding of it and housing companies (and car companies) follow the same idea.
If building a luxury home costs $100,000 to build and building a starter home costs $75,000 to build, why the fuck would you ever bother building a starter home if it sells for half as much? They figured that out and they haven't built a one-bathroom house since 1978.
But on the buyer side, average people aren't really gifted far-seers and they barely seem to think about next week, let alone the next decade. So they'll take a piece of shit house if it's big... because it's big. At least in America that's how it works.
After corona scamdemic a lot of people retired and decided to remodel, and there was a swarm of fake remodelers that did shit like hire a crew that knew how to install windows, and try to get them to tile floors or plaster ceilings. It seems those crowds got absorbed into the construction industry at large because they're selling $500,000 right now "move-in ready" that need $150,000 of work so they don't become mold colonies.

The real problem is actually the fact that there is no good workmanship anymore. When people built those houses in the 30s England was homogenous and builders did their best because it was the right thing to do.

there's no demand for it. There's probably many reasons but I think it's mostly a logical consequence of building being insanely expensive due to high labor costs, high taxation on that labor and mostly idiotic code requirements. At the end of the day, people just want a house and because it's already a fucking pain in the ass to get it built, in the end people don't really care much about how it looks. As long as it doesn't look out of place when compared to their peers.

500k is with 20% down a 400k mortgage, paid over 30 years is only $2k a month. That's roughly half the income of a 45k/yr earner, but that includes illegals, Blacks, felons, retards, 16 year olds with summer jobs, etc. A 75th percentile earner will make more like $80k/yr and can easily afford that.
