We as humans must fuck up in an equally monumental way. We bio-engineer a new creature into existence that preys on the mosquito and then becomes an even bigger problem when we inevitably forget to install an “off-switch” on said critters

sad thing is we're at a technological level where we could essentially wipe mosquitoes from the planet or at the least cant penetrate our skin but instead madmen like Bill Gates are going "I could genetically alter mosquitoes to spread pathogens, sterilize unsuspecting peoples and even potentially genocide entire ethnicities" and world governments want to know more.

We got so much rain in the last 2 weeks, and now mosquitos are fucking everywhere. I went to the field to kick around the ball with my brother and we got fucking SWARMED immediately and had to grab the ball and just fucking run. Out of ALL insects, I think I hate mosquitos most. Useless creatures.

that probaby needs to be what happens with ticks.
They've already cooked up mosquitoes not attracted to mammals and mosquitoes that cant penetrate human skin that can breed with the normal mosquitoes to spread these traits. Think there was even one where 90% of them when they turned from a nymph to a mosquito lacked wings.
