When I first found /pol/ in 2013 I was living with my parents in the countryside delivering newspapers for a living and smoking pot all day. I just thought it was cool that people promoted Nazism and traditionalism, after browsing reddit for like two years I was sick of the hugbox egalitarian feminist mentality. I eventually found a better job May 2014 and lost touch with 4chan in general, or actually migrated to /r9k/ and /TV/. Never in a million years did I ever think /pol/ memes would have serious influence in the world, and I kind of curse myself for enabling and promoting them back then because I'm pretty annoyed with it all these days.

I actually went through an Iron Pill phase, not sure what kind of vibe I was actually giving off but I cringe to think of how I cut the sleeves off my shirts to show off my gainz when I was benching like 150lbs.

I was joking when I posted about it but I didn't consider the core concepts a joke, as evidenced by the fact that I really did try to live the iron pill lifestyle. I think we were right to be opposed to the general globohomo ideology that had taken over the mainstream back then but we ended up promoting something equally as awful, which I think /pol/ is starting to realize as well. Despite the deportations I don't think anyone really expects the economy to improve under Trump.

I would never have admitted it back then but a lot of what I posted came from feeling frustrated about my own lack of progress. Not like I was angry at the world and needed someone to blame, just really bored because I was broke and any kind of story to explain why I couldn't find a job or how things would change soon was interesting. reddit and most mainstream media wanted me to believe that the economy was doing great and the status quo should continue and let science handle everything, just wallow in nostalgia and white guilt. /pol/ said the world was illegitimate and the happening would change everything soon, or with the iron pill that I could adjust my daily routine and meet with deep primal knowledge of my ancestors or something.

Bit cliche but after the last two dismal presidencies the Obama days ironically almost seem like a blissful golden age. At least people tried to be carefree and self-improvement still seemed meaningful, I guess.

i first came to 4chan in 2013 and 2014. at that time i was a successful, happy young professional with a busy social life, albeit unhealthy relationships with drugs and alcohol

over the next few years both the 4chan and the drugs accelerated and by 2016-2017 my life was a wreck. i ended up homeless and addicted to speedballs, overdosing regularly (i wasn't on 4chan as much when i was homeless obviously)

in 2018 i got off the drugs but since 2020 and the covid lockdowns my addiction to 4chan has intensified greatly, and my life has shrunk. i've missed a lot of life milestones in the last decade and now my cognitive frame/worldview is so different from most of my peers that i feel estranged from society.

i am not sure what the future holds for me.
