Domestically things would improve (although there'd be a slight labor shortage in fast food chains), but the real challenge would be what to do with Africa. There's probably be a massive colonization effort between the US and China. China of course would win because they have no political issues colonizing Africa.

Expatriating all violent criminals and other serious felons to central sub Saharan Africa would be the best multi generational solution. The average inmate costs roughly 35K a year. Zambia or the Congo would gladly take every felon we have for 35K a head and we would save billions. Probably trillions over the next decade. The criminal culture would die overnight.
