Why isn't Poland more popular as a tourist destination? It's pretty unique as far as nations go and also its history of greatness and super-human feats of perseverance against impossible odds feels like it should be more popular, but somehow isn't, it's almost like Poland is even specifically viewed as "boring" and "uncool" even though it's a fucking unicorn as far as countries go

That's a meaningless distinction because in the past they were the same country from the same source people united under the same nation, Kievan Rus. This is also related to them being Eastern slavs, not western slavs like Poland.

Yeah this is historically true (in a way) because Poland supported and spread the Ukrainian movement in the interest of retaining that land. Austria-Hungary (overboss of the Poles) did the same thing. This is actually the origin of all of that. Poland never truly supported any such independent state though obviously, this would imply giving up that occupied land and their serfs.

This is also true, the local clerical/white collar class who tended to be better educated wanted reintegration within the Russian empire and many back-emigrated to it whereas Ukrainian nationalism tended to spread among the less educated classes.
