Women are retarded
It turns out women and Jews struggle with this simple problem. Can you solve it, /pol/?

so liquids always find their level?

To be unfair time, mass & energy is the unknown. The water could be all over the bottle if it were tilted suddenly and with great force and perhaps the bottle is huge. But women are known to have spatial awareness difficulties and jews are possessed by legions of demons so scientificwise the wrongerty of their guesses were predictable
Anonymous (ID: Wm8JVH0F) United States No.512730449 >>512730568
kind of a retarded question. no indication of a gravity system or other relative downward force exerted on the liquid, just indication of rotation but not of rate. sure, I'd fill in the second bottle like there was gravity, acceleration, or centripetal force, but there's a chance I'd get the question wrong.
Anonymous (ID: qWmM8228) United States No.512730535
What is the point about which you should rotate the bottle such that the water line remains at constant height relative to the ground? Is it below, at, or above the water line?

learn to use your big boy words and write a decent question. "Assume you rotated the bottle in your hand from vertical (relative to plumb) to 45 degrees (relative to plumb), now draw what the liquid inside the bottle would look like if the liquid was given ample time to adjust to its new orientation despite viscosity."

is this really that obvious to you people?
you kinda need to translate the shape, and make two 45 degrees triangles of equal area to get it right

Are the posts in this thread bots?

It's not even possible for me to conceive of something other than the correct answer. What mechanism would cause the water surface to be able to be at an angle other than completely coplanar?

Do people overthink it (underthink?)

Liquid isn’t β€œomniscient” or aware of where level is. It simply flows in response to differences in pressure caused by gravity acting on its mass. Higher spots have more gravitational potential energy, which creates greater pressure at depth, pushing the liquid toward lower spots until the pressures equalize. The end result is a flat surface perpendicular to gravity, which we call β€œlevel."

I know its tempting to write everything you dont understand or find mysterious as an act of god but please refrain from doing this. We are capable of understanding our reality using physics and writing it all off as an act of god is superstitious and anti-intellectual.

that's a assumption, those type of assumption kill smart kids because they won't automatically pick one or the other, so instead of working on the original problem they now have to figure out the intention of the author of the problem which the only way to do that is to find the answer to all the possible theoretical problems they could be asking then deduce from the plethora of possible answers which one reflected the intent of the authors question.

INSTEAD OF JUST ANSWERING THE QUESTION AT HAND!
