The modern state of Israel was founded by terrorism and an invasion of Palestine from Europe. Gaza is an open air prison. History did not begin on Oct 7th with the Jews living in harmony with nature never having done any wrong. The IDF was murdering civilians in Gaza for decades before Hamas even formed.

Yes, POWs are acceptable so long as they're treated well. Hamas does treat its prisoners well. You can watch the interviews with all of the prisoners who have been released so far, in English on Israeli state TV. Meanwhile, Israel has unregulated rape of all non-jewish prisoners, and the population approves of that policy.
