I live in the rural Midwest and I don't care about the rest of the country outside of where I live in (and regularly drive to), much less about foreign wars. I love history and shit but this is the only place I have roots and nothing outside of it really affects my life, it's all just an intangible abstraction. My daily life and all of my experiences revolve around here, the land and the people. This is also why I don't believe in patriotism.
