>spent more than 100$ for soil, flowerpot, seeds, etc
>grow cherry tomatoes
>wait for half a year for it to bear tomatoes
>get like 5 dollars worth of tomatoes
>tree dies after bearing one batch of fruit
My self-sufficing experiment ended just like that in this country.

Now you know. Gardening for "self sufficiency" is retarded. You'd be better off buying non perishable foods with the money you'd spend on gardening. Then there's all the time and labor.

Self-sufficiency gardening is hard and takes a lot of land to do if you plan on living off it. A lot of hard work for a small pay-off. Plus you need to think long-term. It's easier to just forage for food unless you live in the desert or something. If you are prepping for a collapse or some wild happening, it's better just to get food that can be stored for 50 years.

>t have grown this easily
Chilis are great too, especially the ones from Thailand
I really want to grow marijuana at some point, but probably after I reach the age of 70.

Grow peppers. And keep yout pots out of the white hot sun. It needs a barrier. They got rid of all the air pollution and we are burning to death like ants under a magnifying glass.

Oh yeah squashes are pretty easy to grow, you just plant it and leave it alone and then later in the year it's vines covered half the backyard and it has a whole bunch of squashes on it.

I am currently growing and harvesting tomatoes in my yard; they are among the easiest and hardiest plants I can imagine. They aren't trees, they only take a few months to start fruiting, and they don't die randomly. I have so many questions for you.
