I've lived in Canada (now), US, France, and England, and Canadian values and sensibilities are most similar to France.
The US and Canada are only superficially similar, the longer you're in either country the more you realize how different they are.
England was the more depressing because it's the opposite of the USA in that if you work hard and have good ideas people don't wish you well, people won't help you, and there are a ton of barriers in the way, not least class. And though they were quite an idealistic country once, they are no longer.
The US has a lot of positives but everything always comes down to money, which is exhausting. But if you have a comfy job and paid-for house in a safe area, and can tune out some realities, it could be comfy.
right now all four are a mess and on the verge of changing drastically and forever
