My point was refuting the argument that the person controlling the finances held the true power in the Vatican by pointing out that if that person (and by extension the Pope by allowing it) does not align with God's will, God can and will cause them financial ruin. You have taken what I said to mean that the cause of all wealth is due to God's favor. This is incorrect. God will provide all that we need. God may provide wealth, but there is as much evidence in Scripture (even in 1 Kings alone) to show that there are other means of obtaining wealth that are not aligned to His will.

Context is key. In the case of the comparison to Solomon, Solomon's wealth and prosperity were the result of his service to God. God rewarded Solomon with wealth and Solomon turned away from God so God took it away. So the more apt expansion of what I said would be
