It's Rome 2.0 on steroids.
>Hey man here's how you extract these mienrals
>Here's how you refine them
>Here's the underlying science for how all of the technology works
>Here's all our R&D paid for by the taxpayer
>Hey we can just build factories in your country if your infrastructure is shit
I agree. It's intentional, my guess is maybe they hated the west and wanted to kneecap it, while hoping to jump ship. The only thing is why the fuck would any other nation want the traitors after they sold out their own country? They have no loyalty, and without a country to betray, they have no purpose either. China and Russia have their own oligarchs instead.
But hey, you get to save a bit of money and get plastic trash from China, possibly getting to die in a war against a country with tons of rare earth metals, people, infrastructure, and a homogenous community. While you have none of those things and fight for the government that gave them everything and left you with nothing.
The only part I can't figure out is why the government seems genuinely confused no one is lining up to fight for them. Like the genuinely expected people eager to fight to maintain the status quo where we get fucked in the ass.
And honestly if China loses it would be the biggest L in human history, since they had all of this given to them on a platter, complete with the controleld demoliton of our own countries. Just keeping manufacturing here would help with unemployment and thats before you even specify what you're making, and the jobs help with all other things from druge use to housing.
