I've always heard that the streets of Russia are full of drunks drinking vodka. They were so drunk that they fell down in the snow and froze to death.
How much do Russians really like to drink?

Pretty much all of eastern europe (belarus, russia, romania, etc.) are BY FAR the heaviest drinkers on earth. I don't know if drinking culture came from soviet despair or something, but there's definitely a link to depression and poverty.

Idk ive found that tropical countries have more of a drinking culture than colder ones. Same goes for cold states in the US vs Warmer tropical states. Russian here. Zoomers don't drink much, both consumption and production of alcohol in Russia declines every year. But zoomers' fathers are incorrigible, their generation were the heaviest drinkers, drinking is the best leisure activity to most of them. They were this way in the late USSR, because no one bothered to entertain youth that time, and in the 90s everything was collapsing and they tried to drink their depression away. They also make up the most of SMO volunteers.

Zoomers tend to vape, there are many who do drugs, but they don't like to drink themselves to oblivion. Still in every big town there are alcohol shops not farther than 200m from any living block. The street next to mine has like 8 shops on 1km. Big companies compete and open their shops right next to each other, sell food next to vodka to make some profit. They also scam their employees into taking some of their wage in alcohol crates because they supposedly sold less alcohol than it was planned.

You would really need to search our streets to find some passed out drunk. I didn't see one myself for a long time. And if you tried to seduce Russian zoomer girl with vodka, she would think that you're a weirdo

People like to give varying reasons for alcoholism, but from my experience it's actually very simple.
It's common to start drinking here at around 12 - 13 as a way to look cool and get cunt. Many don't like the experience, but peer pressure and constant drinking does its work and soon the youth is addicted to alcohol, no matter what social strata they come from.
The fact that everything happens due to alcohol here - be it a kid's birthday or an orgy in the woods - further reinforces the alcoholic habit. As a result, people are stuck in an alcoholic loop since being sober automatically makes you the equivalent of khc 4chan autist schizo incel. Then physical dependence does its work and you can't physiologically function without alcohol.
All the talk about poverty, depression, stress, hard life are just excuse for a deeply ingrained social practice and then excuses to keep the alcoholism going.

Used to live with an alcoholic Scottish guy while at uni who would drink 70-80cl of spirits (what Americans call a 'fifth') throughout the day while working. During weekends it was well over a litre. His friends he invited over from time to time drank the same way. They never seemed to completely black out - probably from using cocaine as well. Have no clue how they do it - I guess maybe tolerance since Scots start drinking young or some shit?

Barely anyone anymore from the younger gens do this anymore, but this is something happening to other countries as well.
Could attribute this to many things like people being indoors a lot more or drugs, but zoomers are smarter in general than boomers over all as well as theres more things to do nowadays than in the past.

I went to Sandals in Cuba once and there were obviously a lot of Russians there. In your room you got a bottle of vodka, scotch and rum and there was a Russian guy who basically sat in a path in the common area between the hotel and the rooms swigging the bottles on his own.

Used to do amphetamines and hang with longtime users when i was younger.
Breaking point was after that one time, we were like 16hours in doing Pep(german amphetamines not crystal or shit like that) and hard drinking. So you basicly drink till you feel it then sniff alot of Pep for a heavy spike and then drink again. To keep it short i shit you not once we finished the last bottle they actually got the window cleaner from the kitchen and drank that shit. Like 2 and a half bottles (0.89€ per bottle), i was absolutly shellshocked how casual that was for them. I passed that one hard an just wat hed in aw how 4 junkies down windowcleaner to get drunk... That shit doesnt even have drinkable alcohol in it.

That was for real the worst wakeup call i could have ever had. Havent touched amphetamines since. Cut all contacts to all junks i knew. Really turned my life around after that like i was so afraid to turn out to be so fucked up to just drink windowcleaner to get i lil buzz. And i had atleast 3 bottles of vodka in my head at that moment
