I feel like older women always used to (ofc many still do) get 'old woman' short, low maintenance ugly haircuts like left at some time past 40
I think at one point it was what those women had worn when they were younger but those women are now long dead and they keep doing it despite it being horrifically out of general fashion
And when they seem to get idk insecure or whatever and do it as soon as they feel age advance at 40-50 or so, it seriously ages their appearance, by 10-20 years
Just by not doing that women can look a lot younger in that 40+ range
