Mexico is not Afghanistan. The cartels have no ideology, no religion, just criminal egoistic interests. Trump can put the Mexican gov under heavy pressure to exterminate the cartels and offer help with this and threaten to take action alone if Mexico refuses to cooperate. Just give the Pentagon something to be busy with over the next 30 years so the brass don't get stupid ideas.

They can and will tell our government to fuck off, and one small example of this is their release of sewage into Southern California, which literally poisons our Navy and Marines training in the waters there.
