Drugs have caused a lot of money to flow out of the US because of the drug trade, while destroying the young labor market, and crime rates have risen.
The whole country is almost facing collapse because of drugs and poverty, and American politicians are not even willing to ban the abuse of painkillers by doctors.
The root cause of the inability of the Mexican drug lords to be eliminated is the refusal of U.S. politicians to conduct anti-drug campaigns on U.S. soil.

I never understood the difference in morals.

What amazes me about society in the US; is they've accepted drug addiction as normal. It has become a part of society. They drive and walk past addicts and open drug use like its normal. Seeing needles on the street is normal. Drugs cause a lot of crime, they ruin individuals and families, but there is no real desire to change the root cause. As an individual, you should be ashamed to admit you take drugs, you should be ashamed to be seen outside while high. You should be ashamed of tolerating drug addicts. How was that shame ever removed, its unbelievable. Anyone feeling trapped on prescription drugs should be ashamed of themselves, and the doctors that prescribe them should be prosecuted.
