i work for a defense contractor. we were looking for opportunities outside the US with the goal of selling military boats. i found some opportunities in africa and the owner of the company immediately said no. old dude that has been in the business forever. owner said that africans fucking break everything and expect us to come fix it so he's never doing business in africa again. sort of tracks because i've heard that all the 'african colonizers' actually left the africans with a decent infrastructure which was promptly destroyed once the 'colonizers' pulled out.
