Nope, kicked me out at 19 when I was going to college. Had to drop out to wage slave full time. Anyway, that was a long time ago. We're good now and they visit occasionally, but I dont go out of my way to maintain our relationship or make them a part of my kids' lives.

I'll tell you how. My Great great grandparents were farmers. My great grandparents were farmers. My grandparents the children of my great grandparents sold the farm and were working class. My parents and grandparents got the wealth from the farm and didn't share it with me(wasted it or didn't share it or didn't invest with it). My parents working class have some wealth but don't share it(boomers) And since i was destitute most of my life i have little to no wealth. I was just told to work and make it on my own.

That's how a 5th generation American like me ended up with nothing.

I live with my grandparents. I owe them a lot. I help out when I’m working but I got canned recently (they called me chud too). Lately my mom passed so they’ve been telling me how much they appreciate me despite being a bum. I really hope to help them out one day.

My grandfather was a mattress salesman. But before that he worked on the railroad. My parents(both sides) rebelled against their parents for different reasons. They took this out on me as i got older. My family tree is farmers to working class and both my parents and grandparents never proactively helped me in any real way. Selling the farm took away real wealth from the family. The farm was the only thing that could actually produce generational wealth that by law i could inherit. My boomers parents have stocks and that's theirs.

Making it in America requires your parents to be savvy in helping you sellout. Boomers who got into the real estate market as working class are delusional. They think they are wealthy when in reality inflation has simply made everything more expensive.
