As an avowed putlerian zigger myself, I would begin by explaining that the current Ukrainian regime was put in place by the US State Department back in 2014, in the aftermath of the so-called Maidan protests, which toppled democratically elected and legitimate government of Ukraine lead by Victor Yanukovich. His popular support wwas derived from the Eastern regions of Ukraine, which predominantly speak Russian, and consider themselves ethnic Russians living in Ukraine, and this coup provoked them into declaring independance from the new regime in Ukraine which they did not feel represented them. The new Ukrainian president, Poroshenko, launced a counter-terrorism operation against them, igniting the Ukrainian civil war, and Russia's annexation of Crimea to safeguard its naval bass in Sevastopol (to which it had legitimate rights to, via signed treaties).So actually the conflict did not start in 2022, it started in 2014, and it was provoked by an un holy alliance between Western-minded Ukrainina liberals pertaining to the metropolitan professional middle classes, and blatant Banderite (after Stepan Bandera, Nazi collaborator) Ukrainian nationalists, egged on by NATO mperialism. This is what lead to civil unrest, and calling it a "coup" is a huge cope. This is one of the most legitimate and easy-to-understand causes of popular unrest of all time. The zigger version of "history" is pure propaganda that ignores most of the causes of the conflict in the first place. Putin legitimately sucks at soft power, and has seen Russia's sphere of influence slowly fade due to his incompetence. The reason for the invasion is purely to expand Russia's sphere of influence and control over the black sea, because Putin's attempts at expansion through soft power were dumb as fuck and failed.
