It's the end of an era. The very final bastion of old internet is dead
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2025/08/11/aol-discontinues-dial-up-internet-service-after-40-years/

All eras must come to a emnd. Dial-up existed back long before the web became heavily monitored and censored. Before social media, before smartphones, before AI. Before Jews forced woke ideology down our throats en-masse. What /pol/ was created for the old energy back then. Back when it was more innocent. The world would have been unironically been better had dial-up still was the norm, even if web pages took over a minute to slowly load, videos would very slowly buffer, and download of things larger than a text file would often take all night.

Press F to pay respects.

Expect the internet to be even more sanitized and plagued with even more Leftist indoctrination over the next 10 years.

It was good times have my own pc in the mid to late 90s. I used to straight up steal those AOL diskettes for free hours online. I had a phone line in my room and my PC had a modem so I was online for years before we got real high speed internet and my parents found out what the internet was. Kek. Good times. You stupid zoom zoom retards will never understand how comfy and liberating it all was. You fucking suck. You're a garbage generation. You're all worthless meatbags. You never had a childhood and have never had any real human experiences making you less than human. Hahahahaha

chatting with my friends and they all have different names that are always changing and random display pics. but we could tell who was who. and it was a bit of software that run in the background not an entire website. and we didnt have to keep logging in it would just be there whenever the computer came on. leave a message or chat it was seamless. it was perfection. now we have to sign in to a sanitized corporate website under our real names to talk to each other, the magic died. years of building up a list of all my friends at my fingertips, all of us used to talking to each other there and arranging meet ups, lost in an instant.

I met my fiancΓ©e in an international anonymous online chatting site. It's not the same (too much sexual promiscuity and scams and other stuff), but at least the idea is still there. But going on that site, if you didn't already swallow the Yellow Pill, will make you realize that there's an complete night-and-day difference. But the excessive amount of bots and degeneracy on those sites are pure cancer, unless if you speak to those not from English Speaking countries or Europe (and unsurprisingly, my fiancΓ©e is Asian).

As I said, it's not the same as a chat room as days gone by, but I was just a kid back then when we got AOL in the late 90's.
