From all reports it seems Ukraine is having some trouble replenishing their troops that they allegedly are not losing at all.
Pokrovsk is directly cited by local commander of running out of troops.

ukraine had 2 defense lines that they built since 2014, one was the bakhmut avdiivka line that was taken a while ago, and the second (much weaker) line is the pokrovsk kontanivka line, but the russians just managed to break through the second defense line now and there's literally nothing behind it, like anyone predicted, russia would take a while to get through the 2014 defense lines and then they'll just go through ukraine like hot knife through butter because there's no defenses behind pokrovsk

There are no roads for this breakthrough. This must be some sort of armored, mechanized or bicycle force. But then where are the usual drone swarms?

Something must be going on here that changed the calculation and drones can't be used as easily

Russia has been manufacturing ~15,000+ (geran 2) drones a year, out manufacturing the entirety of NATO in artillery production 3 to 1, and been able to call up to 500k fresh troops a year, they've also come up with better attrition tactics to surround and take cities and towns in the most heavily fortified areas. In attrition warfare once a fortified front falls and the ability to replace stage troops and equipment in time starts falling, the front can collapse relatively quickly. Russia has been advancing more rapidly along roughly 300 miles of front in the last couple months. At the present rate Pokrovsk should fall within 30-60 days but we'll see the snail has already expanded on the institute for war map. And then the snail breakout can be used to surround Konstiantynivka, finally setting up a new front in Kramatorsk.

A lot of Poles are just ridiculous, endless screeching about Russia this, Russia that but Russia never completely leveled their country like the Germans did. They screech about communism but their own kings made Poland full of jews. I like Poland but so many of them are fucking retarded, how do you not see how Ukraine was used as cannon fodder, like totally expendable worthless human garbage and not think they would do the exact same to you? That Fico guy from Slovakia just came out and said the same thing, I wonder what new sanctions or whatever the EU will do to them in response. Try to assassinate him again? At least it's good to see Poland doing well economically I guess.

It differs by which site you use. The closest approach is on the institute for war map, which has Mykolaivka already under Russian control and the claimed line is only 2500m from Stinky. Pokrovsk definitely looks fucked, after which the new pivot will probably be to Konstiantynivka and then Kramatorsk and the border of Donetsk oblast. Stinky will probably fall around the same time as Pokrovsk.

Cause breakthroughs like these are rare and most of this war is slow squad/platoon level infantry and drone slog with glacial pace of advance. β€œHuman waves” you hear about are basically 5 or 6 guys going somewhere either on light vehicles or on foot after drones and artillery pulverize everything and trying to dig in.

This is the most defended part of the whole front at this point and the fact Russians managed to advance ~20 km so quickly and fan out indicates there’s something really wrong with Ukrainian defenses. Whether it’s local or indicates the start of systemic collapse of Ukrainian Army remains to be seen.

Russian strategy is very simple and boring, they launch small-scale low-cost attacks everywhere and wear Ukrainians down. If they move a lot of troops to plug this gap, Russians will just push harder somewhere else and then it’s rinse and repeat.

Cruel thing about this war is that if you’re mentally challenged like most Ukraine supporters and have attention span of a goldfish this dynamic makes you think Ukraine is β€œholding”, but they’re only β€œholding” cause Russians wage the war in a boring and economical way.

This war virtually ended in 2023 in terms of outcome. Since then, ignoring PR stunts like Kursk or Krynky (particularly bizarre episode), Ukraine completely lacks initiative and can only sit there and take it. Even the talk of some giga-counter-offensyiv has died down months ago.
