Great we finally reached 1300s architecture again maybe in another 200 years we will be back at 1500s then in another few we'll be back at 1700s.

Looks more like a cluster of buildings than a castle, but it does look more authentic than most modern attempts.

Meh, I rather live in a small thatched roof cottage in the village outskirts on my own land of course.

Would not care about the castle, to each their own.

It’s cool if
>they used traditional building techniques
>it has traditional style architecture
It would be like a museum showing all Polish style construction through the ages. If it doesn’t do that then it’s kind of tacky.

My childhood dream was always picturing myself being old, sitting in a rocking chair and UK chocolate box cottage type home with stone walls and inglenook fireplace.

I remember as a child I has never heard of these types of homes, I thought it only existed in my immaginarion. One day we were having dinner and talking about dream rooms and decorating, my mom told me my dream room and home exists in UK.

I always picture me sitting, sipping tea next to an oil lamp and fire stove, looking outside via small windows, with stone walls, rich small cozy carpet layers and low ceilings with beams.

And, I pictured haveing a trinket mega cabinet of tea pots and whatnot figurines.

But also I used to picture walking grand large stone buildings, maybe in some past life I lived in a small cozy place within some mega complex.

It doesn't look like a castle. Isit trying to be a representative seat of a noble with all those fancy buildings and huge windows? Or is it meant as a defensible fortress with being on a lake and having a pre castle?

I am serious. That's an ugly complex and a far cry from somethkng historically authentic.

>>512902355
Just look at the tower placement here. The towers should be jutting out a bit for optimal field of fire. Instead the walls have these useless, counter productive angles to them.

Now there are a lot of castles that were shit at defense. Those were for representative purposes. But this, one isn't even that. It mimics the style of a heavily defended place, without actually being one.

>The german austist LARPing as a castle expert is totally oblivious to the fact that historically many castles were basically vacation villas and lost all their defensive aspects, not to mention castle construction spans millennia and they were built with the bleeding edge technology of the times, so talking about "historical accuracy" while actual historical castles were not accurate to anything is retarded

All castles were after we lost the last Advanced Civilization sometime in the 1800s!

This particular one is not chimerical at least skyline wise or centered somewhat, it's not great works, built probubly or modified by less advanced hands and minds.

That being said, to esch their own, their own castle so to speak to their liking.

This. The great Tartarians left earth around that time and most knowledge was lost with them. They purposely planted disinformation like how people believe the earth is round so people would forget about them. It's actually flat and the sun is a synthetic heat lamp only a few miles away. Nobody knows where they went, perhaps they are the ones controlling our reality. It appears we truly are entering a new dark age.

See, that's a proper, defensible castle. Straight walls, towers as strong points. Angular walls only complicate defense until cannons come into play. At which point walls become squat, thick and angular to deflect shots.

That polish building looks more like Neuschwanstein. But unlike the 19th century bavarian castle, this one doesn't stick to the theme and mixes in defensive structures from various centuries. Ugh....

Castles are great, but they're obsolete. A tank is far more destructive than a trebuchet or ballista. 1 bomber with ordnance could depopulate a castle.
Philosophically, your people are your fortress, your nation is your first and last line of defense and everything in between. It is better to build your people than your estate.
