Just did it. Nothing changed. Even went into task manager and rebooted. Still at the bottom. Changed the 03 to 01 in the binary. Don't know if maybe it's because I have two monitors?

At least audio quality on my bose system is somehow higher fidelity now on Windows 11 than it was on Windows 10.

If you killed the explorer.exe process the desktop background would stay the same but the taskbar and start menu and the file manager would be gone as well as any icons on the desktop

Bullshit, I just installed one a couple months ago and it's bugging me to update again. They're ending new feature support at the end of next year but will continue to do security updates for a few years after that.
I don't really care about new OS features because they're mostly eye candy or things that encourage you to put more and more of your life online, which I have no desire for. At some point I'll buy a used mac with Apple Silicon (I do video editing which demands a lot of CPU as you go toward the higher end) but I expect to keep using my intel macs as my general purpose daily machines for another 5-10 years. They're just comfy.
