The nazis hid gold in my village, how to find it?

When the Germans were retreating from Greece, a lot of the Nazis who were occupying my village were forced to bury gold from spoils in order to prevent losing it. How the fuck can I find the gold? Some villagers who have searched have indeed found buried gold but there's still a lot undiscovered. Even had tourists from time to time searching. Is there any good method? No one has cracked the real hiding spots yet. Metal detectors, ground radar, what's the best approach?

Anon, you might be able to find it by studying the route of retreat and looking for places where it could be quickly hidden.
Look at people who have already looked for it and see where not to go, or perhaps places where they simply dug in the wrong spot.

Find out he names of the German officers and see if they have any surviving family.
Maybe they told the grand kids.
