I can't find a job with a CS degree after nearly 3 years.
What do I do? My parents consider me a failure.

Just do what I did

I'm sitting comfy at $185k a year now as a CFO for a management company. My boss still asks me to schedule zoom meetings for him lol. Never used programming once

It's been fucked for me. Fucking recruiters sometimes respond and say they like what I have then get ghosted by the damn company. I would look at trades but that is also fucking saturated as hell.

Autozone AllData, a catalog used by millions of people nationwide, is run by 3 people in a single shared cubicle. From memory, when an Autozone Manager presses Return on the End Of Day Processing button it will take at least 16.3 minutes for the program to fully run and complete it's tasks of copying lists to tape, copying relevant numbers to the network, and phoning home to Tennessee. This is the ideal situation with fiber internet and a functional computer with nothing else running on it. A *typical* EODP run takes about 35 minutes. The developer who created it added a safety feature where if it takes 61 minutes, the program automatically crashes and reboots itself. Also, EODP allows the alarms to be armed and must be run for the next day's numbers to be tabulated correctly. This creates a situation where a manager is ready to go home but the machine shits itself and nobody can do nothing.

Result: At exactly 8 pm every day, hundreds of Autozone managers will call IT and request them to do it remotely. This job requires a college degree because it requires rewriting the bootloader because EODP is loaded into a separate partition from the OS. This job will not be automated because NOBODY at autozone corporate knows how to computer and still sends faxes because the CEO owns the fax company.

Get a cheap black suit and get into the mortuary business. Your tech skills will make you seem like a wizard. It’s an industry where everything is still done on paper ledgers because people that have skills leave for better jobs and we can’t risk anything going wrong….like photo collages with music are done on “The Computer” and recorded with a camcorder and then connected to a projector from 1999. All photos are blown up and all sales associates have the song on their phones in case someone has to stand on the stage and show the pictures while one of us plays the song on a karaoke machine…which didn’t work once….Ive never been so afraid.

We were gonna do tablets but one started updating once at a hospital and if that salesman hadn’t been recording the conversation on his phone (an old sales trick) we would’ve lost a HUGE funeral. Everyone I’ve ever known that’s worked with us and stayed in touch has gone on to do AMAZING THINGS.

I worked there a lot over the past 12 years and the wagie community was a major factor in my decision to not work anymore. NEETs did it to an extent as well but WAGIES are far worse.

After seeing the nothingburger today I came here just to watch the seething and suicide letters. It’s beyond EOY, the jobs didn't disappear, the banks didn't collapse (unfortunately), no more use cases and all the dirty laundry is out in the air now.
It’s not going to be Millennial's Economic Paradise, it will not be the Roaring 20's all over again. The world will not be descending into hyper deflation and prosperity (as was obsessed over for months/years) it will be going on as usual with no major gains or rewards.
I will enjoy watching wagies burn every step along the way.
